Iowa One Call

 

Iowa One Call provides contractors, homeowners, and others who may be excavating, digging or trenching with a single toll-free number to call for locating and marking underground facilities.

 

Iowa law states that if you are excavating, including digging, you must call Iowa One Call at least 48 hours in advance (of your digging) in order to minimize the risk of damaging any type of underground facilities (electric, gas, telecommunications, cable television, water and sewer). The service is free, and so is the phone call. Making the phone call can help eliminate the risk of disrupting service, and greatly reduce the potential risk of serious personal injury.

  • Nancy Jensen - (IA) Call Center Manager - Nancy has managed the 24 hour, multi-state Iowa call center for 8 years and has been involved in the Iowa One Call Center operation for over 25 years.  She oversees the center operation and ensures member and users requirements are being met.   She also interfaces with the Iowa Board and operating committees.

  • Janice Blanche - (IA) Call Center Supervisor/Technical Support - Janice has multi-year experience in computer technical support and has been with OCS for 6 years.  She provides technical support for the Iowa One Call Call Center and Office.  She also provides technical support for the ONTRY (online ticket entry) system, as well as other OCS/Iowa software products.

The Customer Support Department  monitors applications so that tickets are processed and transmitted properly.  Customer/Technical Support will help the member with the following problems:

  1. Assist the member when they have equipment problems.
  2. When the member needs tickets resent.
  3. Resend audits.
  4. Research when damage occurs i.e., look for the ticket that was processed.
